  • Missing Link Security provides Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) as principal advisors on all matters related to the security of the agency’s information systems. ISSOs work directly with members of the Security Assessment, Authorization and Compliance (SAAC) team to support the activities necessary to achieve and maintain authorizations to operate in accordance with the federal government’s Risk Management Framework (RMF).

    ISSOs provide support for the development of and compliance with secure baseline configurations, as well as Secure Development Life Cycle support, including security requirements gathering and security impact analysis. We also provide expertise related to management and recommendations for remediation of vulnerabilities and associated patches. Security monitoring support includes review of audit logs and SIEM events, as well as reporting of identified issues. MLS ISSOs provide Plan of Action & Milestone (POA&M) support, including development of corrective actions and technical support for remediation activities, as well as support for reported incidents, including coordination between the OCC’s CyberSecurity Office (CSO) and system stakeholders.

    Finally, MLS brings its expertise in RMF to bear, as system ISSOs provide RMF support, including coordination of data calls for security control assessments or audits, maintenance of the System Security Plan (SSP) and other security documentation, and participation in briefings to senior leadership. This activity also includes support for the OCC’s transition to an Information Security Continuous Monitoring and Ongoing Authorization (ISCM/OA) framework. Our ISSOs are responsible for developing and maintaining the information system authorization package that is reviewed and assessed by the SAAC team.

  • Missing Link Security provides COMSEC engineering support to develop policy, standards, and strategy recommendations that ensure that Army networks and systems are secure and emerging integrated capabilities meet guidelines. MLS COMSEC Engineers have a strong understanding of Army enterprise architecture, COMSEC policies, public laws, regulations, procedures, and methods. MLS also provides executive administrative support. MLS executive assistant provide workflow management services, assist with staffing actions, provide records management, and process continuity support.

    MLS also works to protect that Army’s vital networks and infrastructure to allow the Army to complete its mission on and off the battlefield, preventing network outages or data tampering that may disrupt the Army’s ability to protect the nation at home and aboard. MLS improves the Army’s network defense posture by providing key infrastructure to ensure availability, authentication, integrity, non-replication, and confidentiality.

    Under Information Assurance, MLS provides technical support to the Government in the incorporation of policy into appropriate regulations and pamphlets; in drafting, reviewing, revising, and delivering Cybersecurity/IA policy documents to the Cybersecurity Directorate, and in responding to DA Staff and organizations’ oral and written queries regarding Cybersecurity/IA policy. Duties entail a thorough knowledge of Risk Management Framework, FISMA, and FIPS.

  • MLS provides support to the S&T client in program analysis; tracking and reporting; organizational and market assessments; program and communication coordination; technology research and technical feasibility; test and evaluation; and studies and analysis related to program management, engineering, and technical services for current, potential, and proposed Research and Development (RDP) programs. MLS supports S&T RDP in conducting its research projects more effectively and efficiently, and to introduce and enhance technological products, services, systems, and capabilities to Federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement organizations.

    MLS also operates as an IT issue support facilitator, ensuring that problematic IT issues are submitted to the helpdesk and resolved. This work involves installing software as well as information and system equipment such as KVM switchboxes, physically checking network connections, and changing out Network Interference Cards (NIC).

    Other duties include Network Vulnerability scanning, Foreign Travel Device Scanning, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), in which we are tasked as the Token Administrator (TA) and Local Registration Authority (LRA), In these roles, MLS helps to protect security for domestic systems as well as those than will be used abroad, bolstering national security in the process. As demonstrated, our excellent abilities at improving and sustaining superior work allow DHS S&T to meet its mission.

  • The General Services Administration (GSA) Information Technology Schedule 70 Contract is the most widely used acquisition vehicle in the US Federal Government. GSA Schedule 70 Contract is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple award schedule, providing direct access to products, services and solutions for Federal, State and Local Government contract officers. Missing Link Security provides cybersecurity services as Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business under GSA Schedule 70 Contract.

    The GSA Schedule 70 Contract offers Federal, State and Local Government agencies direct access to products, services, and innovative solutions to meet their IT needs. Leveraging the GSA Schedule allows each agency to take advantage of reduced administrative costs and expedited support services.

    Missing Link Security (MLS) is pleased to announce that, on March 23, 2020, we were awarded all five subcategories of the Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services (HACS) Information Technology Category (ITC) on the GSA IT-70 Multiple Award Schedule (MAS). This schedule provides government agencies with quicker access to key support services from a pool of technically evaluated cybersecurity vendors that will:

    • Expand agencies’ capacity to test their high-priority IT systems;

    • Rapidly address potential vulnerabilities; and

    • Stop adversaries before they impact our networks.

    MLS demonstrated our extensive cybersecurity capability through a technical oral evaluation conducted by GSA. The interview consisted of questions that tested the technical knowledge and experience of MLS’s cybersecurity professionals. This award signals GSA’s confidence in MLS’s ability to bring expert cybersecurity services to the government in the five subcategory areas of:

    High Value Asset Assessments (including Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (RVA), Security Architecture Review (SAR) and Systems Security Engineering (SSE))

    • Risk and Vulnerability Assessment

    • Cyber Hunt

    • Incident Response

    • Penetration Testing

    The HACS ITC-MAS is available to federal, state and local governments. Customers who want to purchase HACS solutions can use the ITC-MAS procurement process which is detailed on the GSA website and can be found here along with additional information and resources.   • September 7, 2018 – XLA and Missing Link Security (MLS) are pleased to announce that The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), has awarded the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Support Services to Team XLA-MLS. The ISSO Support Services is a five-year contract (base year, with four one-year options).

    NARA is the nation’s record keeper and it is an independent agency established in 1934 to identify, protect, preserve, and make publicly available the historically valuable records of all three branches of the Federal government. Archives locations in 17 states, from coast-to-coast, protect and provide public access to millions of records and provide Federal agencies superior records storage, access, and disposition services through a national network of facilities.

    Together, Team XLA-MLS along with SiloSmashers as subcontractor, brings a thorough understanding of NARA’s architecture, strategic priorities, and prudent emphasis on fiscal discipline, while maintaining a relentless focus on organizational transformation. Our Team brings years of knowledge and experience serving as subject matter experts in the information system security arena, having built and delivered many of the mission critical services and modules used within enterprise security management systems.

    Since 2007, XLA has supported NARA in providing Cybersecurity services in support of Chief Information Security Officer and performing Authorization & Accreditation, vulnerability assessment, Incident Response, policy development and review, annual training development, systems administration, and security engineering support services. XLA has also supported NARA projects such as Enterprise Architecture (EA), Data Model Management, IT Project Management, Information Systems Test, and Configuration Management for many of the enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • Missing Link Security (MLS) is pleased to announce that, on April 16th, 2019, we were awarded the Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Eagle Shield Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). MLS is the company to be awarded the contract under both the Technical Management Full and Open track (along with four 4 large companies), and the Project Management Office (PMO) Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) track (along with four 4 other SDVOSBs). At contract kick-off, MLS was invited to participate in a two-day collaboration session with the government and other contract awardees to provide forward-thinking and innovative approaches to contracting practices to ensure this vehicle meets the rapidly evolving needs of the government. The BPA’s PMO track is currently open for ordering in support of Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), Project Manager, Defensive Cyber Operations (PM DCO), U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Chief Information Officer/G6 (CIO G6), Program Executive Office Command, Control and Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T), and Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare & Sensors (PEO IEW&S) with a maximum period of performance through April of 2024.
